Back to action at last after a 3 week break and a cup quarter final against Black Combe Casuals and a welcome return after injury for Calum Pether. Thoughts of a rusty start because of the break were soon gone as Duddon were all out attack from the first whislte and it was Calum who provided the first goal with a neat chip over the defence for Watters who cooly lobbed the ball over the keeper. A great one-two beween Andy and Dec saw Dec in on goal but his shot slipped past the keeper but wide of the post. A great through ball from defence by Neil and a super back flick from Dec put the ball in the path of Calum who's first time shot went inches wide. A huge throw-in from Andy fell to Dec and his cross fell to Watters at the far post for an easy tap in for the 2nd goal. Another throw in from Andy found Dec in the box and after gettting the ball from under his feet, managed to toe poke the ball past the keeper for a 3-0 lead. A neatly worked corner from Andy found Dec running onto the ball at the edge of the box and he fired the ball in for the 4th goal. A fierce drive from Andy from 25yds crashed against the bar but bounced down and in for the 5th goal. Another corner fell to Dec who's fierce shot was superbly parried by the keeper but the ball fell to the onrushing Neil who let fly with a piledriver but again, the Black Combe keeper produced another fine save. A clearance by the Black Combe defence was headed straight back in and found Watters who turned and volleyed first time, inches over the bar.
The 2nd half started with wholesale changes as all 5 subs came on but the flow of the game didnt alter as Duddon continued their free flowing football to carve out chance after chance. Thommo sent Neil through with a deft through ball and Neil slid the ball past the keeper for 6-0. Neil then had a run down the right to the bye-line, shot across the box and up popped Ben at the back post to tap in for 7-0. A corner in from Neil bouced around in the box and was half cleared to Adam who rifled a screamer from the edge of the box, through the crowded penalty area and into the net for 8-0. An ever talking Sloanie then sent Dec down the wing with a great though ball and as Dec powered into the box his square ball across goals beat everyone including Jack who slid in at the far post, missing the ball by inches. A great tackle in defence by Danny saw him win the ball and launched a great ball up for Dec who met the ball, turned and fired in from the edge of the box for 9-0. Dec then battled hard for the ball, chipped it into the box and found Andy unmarked and he fired in for 10-0. Duddon then won a free kick on the edge of the box and up stepped Andy to fire the ball in for 11-0. Duddon then won a corner which Rowly took with a great inswinging ball, right into the corner of the near post and bar and as the Black Combe keeper rose to catch it, the ball ended up in the back of the net for a 12-0 scoreline to Duddon.
