Duddon started this game with Woody in goals, Sloany and Evo as full backs, Matty and Thommo as centre halves, Neil and Andy in midfield, Rowley and Chris as wingers with Dec and Watters upfront.

Three minutes into the game and nearly an o.g. by the Ulverston defence as a cross was headed goalwards by the defence but the keeper made a fine save. A few minutes later the ball was cleared by the Duddon defence to Chris who slid the ball inside to Neil who instantly fired the ball upfield into the path of Watters who then squared the ball for Dec but the shot went wide. Ulverston then had their first shot at goal but Woody watched the ball sail wide. A Duddon attack down the left found Chris who squared the ball for Neil to have a shot but as soon as he received the pass, Dec took it off his toe and bent the ball with his banana yellow boots into the far corner for 1-0. A good battling display by Chris on the left saw him win the ball but his shot from 20 yds was easily saved by the Ulverston keeper. An attck down the right by Rowley who squared it to Dec who's first time shot was palmed away for a corner by the Ulverston keeper. The corner was taken short to Sloany who squared it for Dec to fire home from the edge of the box for 2-0. Another great run down the right by Rowley and his cross/shot found its way into the back of the net for 3-0. Duddon were on all out attack now and another run from Rowley down the right was squared to the on-rushing Andy who fired the ball inches wide. Another cross from the right was handled by the Ulverston defence and the referee awarded a penalty which Neil stepped up for and cooly slotted into the corner of the net for a half time score of 4-0 to Duddon.

For the start of the second half, Neil, Sloany and Rowley were replaced by Adam, Callum and Danny. A long throw over the Ulverston defence found Dec who squared the ball across the goal inches out of the reach of Chris and theb all was cleared by the Ulverston defence. A rare Ulverston attack and a great turn by the attacker foxed Matty but luckily for Duddon, the shot went wide. A foul, 25 yds out, gave Ulverston a free kick which, with the ball looking as though it was heading for the top corner, Woody produced a full length diving save to tip the ball out for a corner. More substitutions for Duddon as Chris and Dec were replaced by Ben and Jack. No sooner had he taken the field, Jack was through on goal, he rounded the keeper, did well to stay on his feet from the keeper challenge but was forced wide and his shot slid across the front of the goal and was easily cleared. A cross from the right fell at the feet of Watters who's fierce shot went straight at the keepr who made yet another top class save.Duddon then replaced Watters and Chris with George and Tom taking the field. A ball through from Ulverston found the Duddon defence wanting and from 20 yds out, with Woody out of his net, the Ulverston player chipped in for a consolation goal.

The biggest cheer of the night came from the soaked supporters on the sideline as the referee blew the final whistle with the score Duddon 4 Ulverston Rangers 1.
